Plains Indians & Pioneers Museum

Your first stop to learn more about things to do in Woodward and the surrounding area has to be the Plains Indians & Pioneers Museum – not only because this museum is the local authority on the history of the Northwest Oklahoma Territory, but because it’s Woodward’s designated tourism information center! Stop by and see a sprawling collection of artifacts, records, photographs, and items of historical value, with the added bonus of a staff who knows the region through-and-through.

Main Street Shopping District

Get to know the heart and soul of Woodward with a walk down the Main Street Shopping District. Whether its jewelry, fashion influenced by the region’s history and people, great food and drink, or gifts and souvenirs to send to friends and family far away, discovering a new favorite keepsake, memory, or accessory to wear out to the best restaurants in nearby Enid is only a quick jaunt downtown.

Boiling Springs State Park

One of Oklahoma’s seven original state parks, Boiling Springs State Park features 820 acres of gorgeous Great Plains sightseeing, with a natural “boiling” spring that flows around its 40 RV sites, 12 campsites, and four cabins. Just looking at a quick trip for a few hours of scenery? Try one of the Park’s many hiking and mountain bike trails, perfect for adventurers of all skill levels. And if you’re looking for a more leisurely way to spend your day, you’re within walking distance of Boiling Springs Golf Club for a more well-groomed outdoor experience.

Alabaster Caverns State Park

If you’re more of an adventurous spirit, head below-ground at Alabaster Caverns State Park, where a ¾-mile cave formed of rare gypsum continues to wow guests on daily guided tours from 9 a.m. – 4 p.m. Alabaster Caverns recently underwent a full lighting overhaul to highlight this natural wonder’s beauty from an even more impressive vantage, while the area outside the site plays host to horseshoe games, volleyball, camping, and picnicking.

Crystal Beach Waterpark
